SECTION A

WILLIS – In loving memory of Deene Willis, Caddagh, Wilkinstown. 13th May 1923 – 13 October 2001

SWANE – Martha Swane, died January 29th 1950.

TRAYNOR – Mrs. Julia Traynor, died 6th October 1921.  “They shall obtain joy and gladness and sorrow and sighing shall flee away”. Isiah.

REILLY – In loving memory of Richard Reilly, Millknock, Ardbraccan.  Died 12th February 1951.  Also his daughter Sadie, died 13th August 1920 and his wife Sarah Anne Reilly, died 4th October 1963. “Thy Will Be Done”.

PATTON – Ray Nigel Patton, died 20th November 1982, aged 21 years. Dearly loved son of Moir and Aileen Patton, Kilberry and brother of Linda . “I give you peace, the world cannot give”.

CLINTON – In loving memory of my dear wife, Eliza Lane Clinton, who fell asleep January 31st 1924, aged 74 years.  Here also lieth the Venerable Archdeacon G.W. Clinton M.A., husband of the above and Rector of Donaghpatrick for 13 years, who died 13th March 1926.

GRAY – In loving memory of Mary Edith Gray, Oristown, died 24th May 1939, aged 54 years.  Also her husband James, died 30th November 1954, aged 87 years.  Also their grandson Aubrey William, died 16th June 1959, aged 4 months. “The lord is my Shepard, I shall not want”.  Psalm 23.

MC KEEVER – In loving memory of Ruth, a much loved sister and darling daughter of Ivor and Jenny McKeever, Clooney, Castletown, who died 15th July 1978, aged 22 years.  Also Ivor of Mitchelstown, Castletown, a devoted husband and father who died 13th December 1997, aged 75 years.  “Life is not measured by the years we live, but by the love we gave and the things we did”.

BROWNE – In loving memory of Mollie Browne, late of Randalstown, Navan who departed this life 9th April 1979, aged 64 years.  John Browne, Randalstown departed this life 2nd May 1998, aged 94 years.  Erected by her husband and daughter.

COOKE – In loving memory of Alice Louie Cooke, Wilkinstown, who died 23rd February 1958.  Also her sister Christina died 7th December 1965. “God is love”.

MC FELCE – In loving memory of Florence McFelce who died 28th January 1980, and Barbara Josephine French, Shane Lodge, Wilkinstown, who died 9th June 1989.

BROWNE – In loving memory of Eugene Browne, Jamestown House, Bohermeen, who died 12th July 1950 (Holy Year), and his wife Mabel, March 23rd 1954.  Also their grandson John died 4th July 1951.

MC LOUGHLIN – In loving memory of John and Margaret Mc Loughlin, Tankardstown, and their son James, Patrick, John, Peter and Denis.

MC LOUGHLIN – In loving memory of Elizabeth Mc Loughlin, Phoenixtown, Ardbraccan, died 30th May 1988, aged 54 years.  Her husband John, died 3rd January 1965, aged 63 years.

QUAIL – Erected by Harry Quail in loving memory of his wife Masie, who died 18th July 1949, aged 59 years.  Also the above Harry Quail died 17th June 1956, aged 66 years.  In loving Memory of Harry Quail, died 24th April 1984, aged 66 years.

REILLY – In loving memory of Mrs. Brigid Reilly, Teltown, who died 16th March 1949, aged 73 years.  Also her husband Thomas, died 20th March 1952, aged 74 years.  Erected by their son William.

REILLY – In loving memory of Mollie, beloved wife of William Reilly, died 3rd January 1972, aged 64 years. Her husband William died 11th July 1985, aged 76 years.

HAND – Sacred to the memory of Mary Hand, Carnaross, died September 26th 1937.  For thirty years the faithful friend of the Chaytor family.  In memory of Nicholas Hand and his wife Jane.  Also their family, John died 1949.  Charles died 1960.  Richard died 1963.

MC CORMACK – In loving memory of Jane McCormack, died 4th April 1913, aged 63 years.  Her son John died 6th October 1958, aged 80 years.   Also her daughter Maud (Mae) Greener, died 24th September 1964, aged 76 years.  Her daughter in law Bridget McCormack, died 16th November 1964, aged 84 years.  “On her soul, sweet Jesus have mercy”.

CONWAY – In loving memory of James Conway, Teltown, who died 22nd May 1936.  Also his daughters Louie and Monica, who died young and his wife Bridget Conway, died 10th March 1950.  His son Joseph died 23rd May 1976.  Erected by his wife.  Christopher Conway died 9th February 1974.  Rev. Vincent Conway S.J. died 11th May 1985, interred Sydney.

MC NAMEE – In loving memory of James McNamee, Kilmainham, Kells, born 29th June 1931, died 14th January 2000. “Peace, perfect peace”.

REILLY – In loving memory of Patrick Reilly, Tatestown, died 9th January 1944.  His wife Jane, died 1st February 1978.  His daughter Anne died 19th November 1985.  Their daughter in law Patrcia Reilly died 17th September 2001.

MITCHEL – Erected by Owen Mitchel of Tankarath in memory of his daughter Bessie Clarken, who died August 12th 1884, aged 33 years.  Also five of his children who died young.  Paul and Anne Mitchel.  James Mitchel died 17th January 1932.  Also his wife Mary Anne Mitchel died 5th July 1935.  Annie, wife of Patrick Mitchel died 12th February 1949, ages 33 years.  Also her husband Patrick, died 11th January 1957, aged 54 years.

ENGLISHBY – In loving Memory of Christopher (Kit) Englishby, Ash Lodge, Teltown, died 1st April 2002, aged 80 years.   “There is an old belief that on some beautiful shore beyond the sphere of grief, dear friends and loved ones will meet once more”. “If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I’d walk right up to Heaven and bring you home again”.

SWEENEY – Erected by Margaret Sweeney in memory of her father John Sweeny, Clongill, who departed this life April 26th 1902, aged 63 years.  Also his grandmother, Margaret Sweeney.  Also the above Margaret died 22nd May 1949.

SHERIDAN – In loving memory of Eugene Sheridan, Gibbstown, who died 12th July 1939, aged 72 years.  Also his wife Julia died 27th February 1972, aged 78 years.  Also their son Paul, died 9th March 1998, aged 75 years.  Eugene Sheridan died 10th January 1999, aged 70 years.  Erected by their loving family.

MC GOVERN – Erected by James Mc Govern in memory of his father Peter McGovern, who died March 4th 186_.

BYRNE – Erected by Brian Byrne in memory of the Rev. Christopher Byrne, Parish Priest of Skreen, who departed this life June 1806, aged 52 years.  Also their father, Thimmithy Byrne and his mother Catherine Byrne, alias Murphy and his brothers Paul and John Byrne.

CAVANAGH – Here lieth the body of Michael Cavanagh, deceased August ye 7th 1763, aged 47 years.  Also his son Owen Cavanagh, departed this life April 29th 1814, aged 76 years.  John Kavanagh died June 10th 1904, aged 46 years.  Anne Cavanagh died March 4th 1922, aged 71 years.

REILLY- This stone is the burial place belonging to John Reilly and his posterity. Here lieth the body of above John, deceased March ye 18th 1745, aged 57 years.  This stone was erected by his son, Edmund Reilly.  Also the body Anne Carolan, alias Reilly, daughter of ……. Reilly, departed this life December 1779, aged 46 years.

EVERARD – This stone was erected by Patrick Everard, in memory of his father Nicholas, who departed this life 25th November 1784, aged 70 years.  Also his mother, Judith Everard, alias Springan, died November 5th 1785.

GERARD – Erected in memory of Christopher Gerard who departed this life 3rd September 1847, aged 21 years.  Here also are the interred remains of Patrick Gerard, the beloved son of the late Christopher Gerard of Navan, who departed this life 10th April 1852 in the 19th year of his age. Here also lies the remains of Anne Dowd alias Gerard, beloved daughter of Christopher Gerard, who departed this life 29th day of December 1853 in the 25th year of her age.  Also his sister Miss Mary Gerard, departed this life 7th day of May 1857 in the 26th year of her age.  Thomas Dowd died March 5th 1875, aged 22 years.

GERARD – This monument was erected by Christopher Gerard of Navan in memory of his son, Patrick Gerard, who departed this life 29th April in the year of our Lord 1825, aged 24 years. Also his daughter M. Devlin of Drogheda, with her infant child who departed this life on 25th April 1829, aged 26 years.  Christopher Gerard, son of the above Christopher departed this life 3rd May 1839, aged 29 years.  Peter Devlin of Drogheda, son in law of the above, departed this life May 10th 1839, aged 32 years.  Here lieth the remains of the above Christopher Gerard their beloved father who departed this life 18th November  ……., aged 76 years.  Here also lie the remains of Thomas Gerard son of the above Christopher Gerard, who departed this life 2nd April 1823 in the 32nd year of his age.  Here also are interred, Mary Gerard, beloved wife of the above Christopher, departed 15th April 1847, in the 77th year of her life. Here also lie the remains of Patrick Gargan of Navan, son in law to Christopher Gerard, who departed this life 9th September 1848, in the 45th year of his age.  Mrs. Margaret McEvoy, died January 13th 1883, aged 36 years.

MARKEY – Here lieth the body of Simon Markey, departed this life September 29th 1755, aged 37 years.  Erected by his son Michael.

SHERIDAN – Erected by Christopher Sheridan of Clongill in memory of his father and mother.  Here lieth the body of John Sheridan aged 26 years, who departed this life 17th November 1799.  Also his daughter Mary Sheridan, who departed this life 11th November 1800.  Also Judith Carroll, his wife and one of his infants, who departed this life 7th August 1813, aged 35 years.

SHERIDAN – Here lieth the body of Thomas Sheridan, who departed this life September 15th 1736, aged 84 years.  Also his son Patrick, departed this life February 1737, aged 33 years.  This stone was erected by his son James.

SHERIDAN – Erected by Sylvester Sheridan of Martry, in memory of his wife, Catherine Sheridan, who departed this life 13th April 1807, aged 53 years.  Also here lieth the remains of said Sylvester Sheridan, departed this life 1st February 1812, aged 60 years.  Here also lieth the body of Patrick Sheridan, son of the above Sylvester, who departed this life January 8th 1849, aged 75 years.   Here also lieth the body of Catherine Sheridan, died October 20th 1864, aged 81 years.  Also his wife, Elizabeth Sheridan who died February 3rd 1860, aged 51 years.  Mary Sheridan died April 1893, aged 70 years.   Thomas Sheridan died October 1896, aged 84 years.  Sylvester died 31st October 1898, aged 73 years.  James Sheridan died 15th January 1901, aged 76 years.

BEGGY – To the memory of James Beggy, Oristown, Co. Meath, died 7th March 1913, aged 75 years.  Also Thomas Beggy, who died in the USA in 1910. Sons of John Beggy of Oristown.

REILLY – Erected by Brian Reilly of Ardgill in memory of his beloved wife, Anne Reilly, alias McMahon, who departed this life, May 21st 1829, in the 28th year of her age. Also of three of his daughters Anne, Mary and Margaret Reilly.

NAVAGH – This stone was erected by John Navagh of Athlumney, in memory of his father and mother, brother, three of his infant children 1789!

NAVAGH – Here lieth the body of Nicholas Navagh, who departed this life 30th May in the 28th year of his age, anno domina 1729.  Requiescat in pace.  Also Thomas Navagh of Navan, died July 12th 1792, aged 79 years.  Also Brigid Navagh who died June 9th 1807, aged 17 years.  Also Luscy Navagh, who died May 3rd, aged 16 years.  Also Eliza Navagh, died April 7th 1813, aged 11 years. Also here lieth the body of Michael Gibney, aged 9 years, died 18th May.  May he rest in peace. Eliza Navagh who died December 18…   …….  Navagh died Dec…….  Tanner.   Margaret Hamilton, the mother of Adam Hamilton of Navan.

NAVAGH – Elisey Navagh died 1820, aged 15 years.  Eliza Navagh died 1823, aged 13 years, died 8th March.  John Navagh aged 11, died September 9th 1827.

HAND – Erected by Catherine Hand of Rathaldron, in memory of her husband Thomas Hand, died on 31st March 1875, aged 45 years.  And her son Nicholas aged 11 years.

REILLY – Erected by James Reilly of the Yellow Walls, in memory of his son Michael Reilly who departed this life November 1st 1816, aged 24 years.

REILLY – This stone was erected by John and Bryan Reilly, in memory of their father, James Reilly, deceased August 12th 1860, aged 74 years.  Also his wife, Catherine Reilly, alias Hall, deceased February 7th 1751, aged 64 years, and their posterity.  Also John Reilly, late of Ladyrath, aged 55 years, died February 17th 1767.  Also Owen Reilly aged 48 years.  ……… Nancy Reilly.

SMITH – Erected by Rose Smith of Drogheda, in loving remembrance of her dearly beloved husband, James Smith, died June 13th 1886, aged 30 years.  “May his soul rest in peace”.

MURTAGH – In loving memory of Simon Murtagh, departed this life August 20th 1730, aged 24 years.  This monument was erected by George Murtagh in memory of his dear father and beloved wife Mary, alias Connolly, who died April 4th 1773, aged 36 years.

MC NAMEE – In loving memory of Rose McNamee, wife of J. Jackson, who died in Dublin 22nd September 1989, aged 32 years.

CAROLAN – Here lieth the body of Philip Carolan, who departed this life April 2nd 1732, aged 59 years.

KEARNEY – In loving memory of Mrs. Margaret Kearney, Castlemartin, who died 14th January 1975, aged 86 years.  Her husband Thomas died 15th November 1976, aged 90 years.  Their son Matthew (Matt), died 27th June 1992, aged 62 years.  R.I.P.  Erected by her husband.

ALLEN – Erected by Richard Allen of Rathcoon, in memory of his father, William Allen, who departed this life May 10th 1768, aged 52 years.  Also His wife, Anne Allen otherwise Carroll, who departed this life May 1821, aged 74 years.  Also his posterity.

BRENNAN – This stone was erected by James Brennan, in memory of his son Daniel, deceased September 29th 1771, aged 24 years.  Here lieth the body of James, who departed this life, July 29th 1777, aged 60 years.  Here also lieth his wife, Margaret Brennan, alias Delaney, who departed this life November 1st 1799, aged 82 years.  Also their son Thomas, who departed this life November ….., aged 56 years.

DUFFY – Here lieth the body of Patrick Duffy, who departed this life, May 15th 1799, aged 60 years. Also their son Thomas, departed this life July 23rd 1793, aged 18 years. Erected by his wife Mary Duffy, alias Brennan.

LEE – Erected by Patrick Lee, in memory of his mother, who departed this life 28th August 1862, aged 70 years.  R.I.P.

COWLEY – John Cowley, Ardbraccan, Actor, 1923 – 1978.  “Sometimes remember me with folded arms, and keep me happy in your pious prayers”.  (Francis Ledwidge).

COWLEY – Erected by Anne Cowley in memory of her beloved husband, Patrick Cowley who died August 3rd 1860, aged 65 years.  Also the above Anne Cowley, who died March ’94 1870, aged 65 years.  Patrick “Sonny” Cowley died 11th February 1965.  His wife Margaret died 17th November 1932.  Also his parents and sisters  R.I.P.

SHAFFREY – In loving memory of John Shaffrey, Bloomsbery, died 11th January 1961.  His wife Elizabeth died 6th April 1977.  Their son Patrick died 26th April 1956.  Their daughter Josephine died 1st January 1983.

TIERNAN – In loving memory of John T. Tiernan, Oristown, died 5th June 1958.  Also his wife Mary Anne, died 18th January 1937 and their granddaughter Catherine.

REILLY – In loving memory of Thomas Reilly, Teltown, who died 11th February 1919, aged 27 years.

LYNCH – Pray for the souls of Hugh Lynch, Gibbstown, died 5th January 1958, aged 75 years.  His parents, brothers and sisters.  Also Emily McDonald, died 16th September 1943, aged 64 years.  Her husband Patrick died 10th December 1950, aged 77.  Erected by Mrs. Julia Crinion.

HAND – Erected by Michael Hand in memory of his father Michael, Gibbstown, died 7th October 1935.  His brother Bernard died aged 4 years.  Also his grandparents, uncles and aunts.

DONLON – Renewed in 1989 by Thomas Donlon for his mother Mary Kelly, died 1943.  To his grandparents, Joseph Kelly, died 1911 and Julia Hand died 1913.  To their family, Joe died 1901, Pat died 1904, Tom died 1940, Nan died 1941, all of Windtown Navan.  Also of Fr. Carolan and all the Carolan family of Nevinstown.  R.I.P.

CAROLAN – This monument was erected by Peter Carolan in the year 1777, to the memory of his parents.  Also his wife, Frances Carolan, alias Duff, who departed this life March 17th 1890, aged 30 years.  Also her daughter Anne Carolan, who departed this life January 10th 1891, aged 19 years.  Renewed by Joseph Kelly, grandson to the above Peter Carolan.  In memory of his beloved parents and aunt, Mary Carolan, who died March 1856, aged 65 years. ….. August 10th 1873.       R.I.P.

O’BRIEN – Erected in memory of Thomas O’Brien, died 27th June 1890, aged 56 years. Margaret O’Brien who died 10th April 1891, aged 72 years.  Christopher O’Brien died 3rd January 1918.  Thomas O’Brien died 20th December 1925.  Margaret Flood died 17th September 1928.  Brigid O’Brien of Castlemartin, died 10th April 1949. Christopher O’Brien, Durhamstown, died 25th January 1971.  John O’Brien, Martry, died 10th February 1971.

BELLEW – Here lieth the body of Lawrence Bellew, deceased June 23rd 1753, aged 78 years.  Also ye body of John Bellew deceased May ye 14th 1767, aged 55 years.  Erected by Patrick and Thomas Bellew.

BELLEW – This stone was erected by Mr. Thomas Bellew of Drogheda, merchant.  Here lieth the body of Margaret Bellew, alias Weldon, his wife, who departed this life 1777, aged 27 years, and three of his children.  Also his brother Pat Bellew, who departed this life June 9th 1789, aged 31 years.  Also the above Thomas Bellew, who departed this life, August 6th 1794, aged 61 years.

AURTHUR – Here lieth the body of Christopher Aurthur, who departed this life December ye 7th 1773, aged 68 years.  Erected by his son Nicholas.

FITZSIMONS – Erected by Charles Fitzsimons in memory of his father, Michael Fitzsimons, who departed this life January 12th 1818, aged 82 years.  Also his mother, Catherine Fitzsimons, alias Casey, who departed this life March 13th 1829, aged 74 years.

SMYTH – In loving memory of Patrick Smyth of Kells, who died 16th …………, aged 18 years.  Of his son Michael Smyth who died 6th August 1861, aged 15 years.  Also of his daughter, Elizabeth Sweeney, died 17th March 1881, aged 34, and his daughter, Brigid Collins, who died 11th March 1885, aged 34 years.

SMITH – In loving memory if Catherine Smith, died 4th December 1885.  Also her husband, Patrick Smith, died 4th February 1900

REILLY – Here lieth the body of Edmund Reilly, who departed this life in the 71st year of his life 1731.  The body of A1. John Reilly, late of Oristown, only son of ye above Edmond Reilly, who departed this life 4th May 1740 in the 64th year of his life.

BLAKE – This stone was erected by Matthew Blake, who departed this life January 7th, 1754.

O’BRIEN – This monument was erected by Mary O’Brien of Bohermeen, in memory of her beloved husband Patrick O’Brien, who departed this life May 11th 1821, aged 53 years.  He lived beloved and died regretted.  Also their son James, who died 21st March 1902, aged 82 years.

POWDERLEY – Erected by Rose Powderley in memory of her husband, Thomas Powderley, who died October 1869, aged 49 years.  And their son Patrick Powdreley, died 11th June 1881, and her son Matthew Powderley, who died 15th November 1882.  Also her son Hugh, who died October 6th 1890.  James Powderley, 29th April 1947.  His wife Annie died 11th March 1929.  Elizabeth Donaghy died 28th November 1919.  Patrick Powderley died 8th July 1972.  Also his wife Mary died 23rd January 1966.  Their son, Bertie Powderley died 24th November 1984.  “May the Lord have mercy on their souls”.

KENNEDY – This stone was erected by Edward Kennedy, in memory of his wife Frances Kennedy, Alias Lee, who departed this life January 30th 1782, aged 34 years.  The Lord rest her soul in peace.  Jane Josephine Kennedy 1902 – 1983.

BROGAN – Here lieth the body of John Brogan, deceased January 12th 1767, aged 36 years.

O’REILLY – Beneath repose the mortal remains of Eugene O’Reilly V.S. of Navan and Meath, who died August 2nd 1876, aged 35 years.  And also those of his daughter Lizzie, who died March 23rd 1875, aged 9 years.  And of his son Eugene Joseph, died January 10th 1875. R.I.P.   This monument has been erected by a sorrowing wife and mother as a last tribute of affection to their memory.

REILLY – Here lieth the body of Matthew Reilly, late of Oristown, who departed this life April 15th 1785, aged 52 years.  Erected by his sons Owen and Thomas.  Also here lies the remains of Owen Reilly, son of the above Matthew, died 1839.  His son James Reilly died 1865.  His son Matthew Reilly died May 20th 1877, aged 33 years.  His son James died January 6th 1905, aged 31 years and Jane, beloved wife of Matthew Reilly, died December 30th 1909, aged 58 years. Mrs. Annie Madden, daughter of above Matthew, died May 26th 1914.  Also her husband, Joseph J. Madden, died 28th March 1950, aged 68 years. R.I.P.

MARTIN – Erected by Michael Martin of Teltown, in memory of his father Thomas who departed this life April 3rd 1789, aged 57 years. Also here lieth the body of Margaret Martin, alias Cavanagh, wife of the above Martin, departed this life April 20th 1808, aged 39 years.

LACY – This stone was erected by Kathleen Lacy in memory of her husband John Lacy, departed this life December 19th 1790, aged 39 years.  Also her son, James Lacy, departed this life 22nd June 1816, aged 38 years.  Also George Lacy, departed this life 180…., aged 24 years.  Also Hugh Lacy, departed this life 20th ………… 1799, aged 18 years.  Also Christopher English, died November 21st 1906, aged 84 years.

ENGLISHBY – In loving memory of James Englishby, Nevinstown, Navan, who died 17th March 1952.  Also his infant daughter Maria Goretti.  His parents Anne Englishby, Oristown, died 16th November 1955, Matthew Englishby died 22nd December 1962, Elizabeth Englishby died 18th January 1946.  Thomas Englishby died 26th April 1931.  His wife Mary Anne Englishby died 9th June 1928.

KENNEDY – Here lieth the body of Walter Kennedy, deceased 6th January 1737, aged 72 years.  Also his wife, Alice Bryan, deceased August 14th 1736, aged 67 years, and his daughter Catherine, deceased December 7th 1746, aged 43 years.  This stone was erected by her son Patrick.

MARTIN – In loving memory of Christopher Martin, Donaghpatrick, Navan, died 18th November 1958.  Also his parents and sisters.  Mary Martin died, 5th August 1970.  Brigid died, 9th February 1980 and his wife Mary died, 18th January 1985.  Also his son James (Jim), died 28th June 1992.  R.I.P.  Erected by his wife and family.
